Reform Facial Peel

REFORM Skincare Peels are made up of acids that occur naturally in a number of fruits (from where they get their “eco-friendly” name of fruit acids) and dairy products. Glycolic acid, lactic acid salicylic acid, malic acid and citric acid are all examples of AHA’s. Glycolic acid was originally extracted from sugar cane, but the acid used in treatment today is synthesized chemically. AHA’s affect the cohesiveness of epidermal cells causing detachment of keratinocytes. They can be used daily on the skin in concentrations of 2% to 15% or as a peeling agent in concentrations of 20% to 70%.

REFORM Facial Peels treat:

  • Freckles Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • Melasma
  • Solar lentigines
  • Actinic Keratosis
  • Fine wrinkles
  • Acne
  • Oily congested skins
  • Keratosis pilaris

All skin types are suitable for REFORM Skincare Peels, however higher percentages may not be suitable for darker skin types.

Acne Treatment

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It causes whiteheads, blackheads or pimples. Acne is most common among teenagers, though it affects people of all ages and can be persistent. Acne can cause emotional distress and scar the skin. The earlier treatment is started, the lower the risk of such problems.

Dr. Michelle takes a holistic approach to the treatment of acne, treating the bacteria at source when necessary through the use of prescription medications, to the topical use of the dermatologist-developed, medical-grade Obagi 3-step system specifically formulated for normal to oily skin to treat acne where it starts. This system includes clinically proven benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid to help control acne for a clearer, healthier-looking complexion.

Obagi Blue Radiance Peel

The Obagi Medical Blue Radiance Peel at Enhance Clinic Ashbourne is a quick and easy salicylic acid-based facial chemical peel for all skin types that exfoliates and helps improve overall complexion. The peel is meant to help clear away surface-level impurities, dead skin, and anything else preventing you from achieving your best skin ever.

The Obagi Radiance Peel helps quickly and effectively exfoliate the top surface-level of the complexion, leaving behind smoother and clearer skin.

Frequently Asked Questions About Radiance Peel

What are the benefits of Obagi Blue Peel Radiance?

Obagi Blue Peel Radiance can help improve a number of skin-related concerns such as: fine lines and wrinkles, acne/blemishes, mild-moderate sun damage and hyperpigmentation, and rough uneven skin texture.

How does it work?

The peel has 20% salicylic acid as well as glycolic and lactic acids. These acids make the peel a wonderful chemical exfoliator containing BHAs and AHAs. It is self-neutralising so the peel won't burn deep layers of skin - meaning there is minimum-no downtime.

How long does it last?

You will see results straight away. However, benefits peak at about 30 days after treatment. We usually recommend a course of 4-6 peels for optimum benefit.

Will my face burn off/does it hurt?

Most clients report feeling a "spicy" sensation with the peel, however, you shouldn't feel pain. It's important to inform your clinician straight away if you feel any intense burning or pain. This peel is self-neutralising so while other peels may require a recovery time of weeks after application, this is not the case with the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance.

What are the risks of the peel?

No procedure is without risk. Each procedure's side effects, risks and benefits are explained to you in detail during your initial consultation.
